Labour wins in Poole: A Message from Neil Duncan-Jordan MP

This is a sincere thank you to all those residents in Poole that voted on Thursday to make me their MP - and become the first ever Labour member in history to represent the town. I know that some of you had never voted Labour before, and I will need to show you that your faith and trust have not been misplaced. I also need to ensure that longstanding Labour supporters see why they were right to stick with it for so long. As I promised during the campaign, I intend to be a constituency focussed MP that listens to local residents and provides support wherever possible.

I will aim to communicate regularly and let you know what I’ve been doing, and I hope to have a base in the town set up very soon where I can be contacted.

I cannot express how it feels to be the newly elected Member of Parliament for Poole. My late parents and sister would have been so proud. I also need to record my heartfelt thanks to the Poole Labour family for all their efforts over the years and this last six weeks and the trade unions and individuals that helped fund my campaign. Without all of this, and the willingness of the residents of Poole to vote for change, I would not be going to Westminster this week to start my new job.
